... I guess I really need to do 24 of these since I've been tagged thrice! *racks brain*
The rules are:
1. Post these rules
2. Each person tagged must post 8 random facts about themselves
3. Tags should write a journal/blog of these facts
4. At the end of the post 8 more persons are tagged and named
5. Go to their page and leave a comment telling them they're tagged
Hmm, 8 facts about me huh? EDIT: Make that 24.....
1. I'm ambidextrous, and proud of it!! I really wish I could give that skill to my mom right now, she could use it! (her right arm is in a sling for the next few weeks)
2. I used to doodle a bit as a kid but it wasn't until earlier this year when I got hooked on Danny Phantom that I actually started drawing. Now I've got a collection of Prismacolor pencils breeding like rabbits. Stupid Hobby Lobby sale tempting me....
3. I love to write! I've been writing for years and years, my very first fanfic "Quantum Kirk" is about 13 years old and still floating around the internet *sigh* I have improved though! I have a hard time finishing stories though because I have plot bunnies biting me like you wouldn't believe!

(wonderfully useful emote by

)
4. I just finally watched a few episodes of Dr. Who this month, but I was writing Dr. Who/ The Monkees crossover fanfics with a friend over a decade ago!
5. I obsess easily. Just ask

! I think I scared her when I dove into the deep end of the Danny Phantom pool

I also have a LOT of interests and obsessions. Too many....but more the merrier I say!
6. I'm adopted. No, I don't know a thing about my birth parents, as the adoption was pretty much anonymous and handled through a doctor who is now long gone. But that's okay, I think God listened to my family's prayers and picked me for them -- honestly, if you saw pictures of me as a toddler and pictures of my mom at about the same age you'd swear they were of the same person!
7. I am a bit of a shopaholic....which makes Hobby Lobby a very dangerous place for me to work! I am also very crafty. I sew, I knit, I have done model cars, I make jewelry, I cannot stop making tote bags, I do latch hook rugs, I scrapbook, etc.
8. I love craft swaps! I haven't done one in a while, because of money concerns, but I love to share crafts with friends and get wonderful crafts back. Maybe soon I'll get better enough at drawing Danny I can start doing some art trades!

Especially because

got me hooked on getting original art when we were at Wizard World :-P
9. My handwriting is horrible....but improving! I've been playing with calligraphy, I bought a neato calligraphy fountain pen (Hobby Lobby....very dangerous) and it's kind of fun! I even used that to write my letter to Nick begging them to save Danny!
10. My handwriting is better when I write lefty versus writing righty. Seriously! Ask

!
11. I have a humongous collection of sewing patterns. I have actually made like three or four things, but I've got probably a hundred or more patterns. One day.....
12. When I discover a new show or a new craft....I have a tendency to go crazy picking up everything I need. *looks at pencil case* Yeah I just started drawing and I've already picked up about a dozen Prismacolor pencils, three kneaded erasers, and 4H, 2H, HB, 2B, and 4B pencils.
13. I love Harry Potter, and I actually got started on the calligraphy because I wanted to try writing with something similar to what's described as being used. So I grabbed a set from Hobby Lobby that had a Crow Quill pen and ink and got hooked. Then I got a calligraphy dip pen set that had a really nice shaped handle. That has been getting some use recently as I play with inking my DP drawings.
14. I've been a Ghostbusters fan pretty much since the first movie came out. I was four when it came out...and I absolutely do not remember a time I wasn't into GB. One day in college I was bored out of my skull....and I started reciting the movie in my head. Line for line. I was up to the scene in the Mayor's office ("Fire and brimstone coming down from the sky, rivers and seas boiling!") when I realized what I was doing and scared myself

I have probably watched those two movies more than any person on the planet.
15. My freshman year of high school I actually was in the guidance counselor's office looking up schools that offered parapsychology. Until I discovered computers my junior year, I was going to go all the way to California to study parapsychology. Many years later I found out that the school I ended up at used to offer parapsychology...boy was I ticked!
16. Photography is a passion of mine I don't spend as much time on as I would like. I took my first picture when I was about five years old, the sunset as viewed from the Mackinac Bridge in Michigan. My dad helped set the apature/focus on his manual Yashica but I took the picture

I still have and still use that camera, it's over thirty years old and while they don't manufacture the batteries it calls for anymore (so no light meter or shutter adjustment) it still takes great pictures!
17. I am a library addict, I got my library card when I was about two and a half years old (and I signed for it myself!), and I've had it ever since. Yes, still the same card (it's like 25 years old now), and if I ever get a new card (they've changed the card style twice since but I still won't upgrade) or move out of this area, that card is getting framed.
18. I spend more time on the computer than is healthy ^_^ I'm getting out a little more, thanks to the awesome people I've met through
Anime Central but most of the time I come home and sit down at the keyboard. I'm active on several forums, here, Gaia, and more.
19. I love conventions! I went to my very first Anime convention this year (Anime Central rocks!), and my second trip to Wizard World. A college friend introduced me to comic book conventions back in 2001, and thanks to her I got to meet Jason Mewes of "Jay & Silent Bob" fame.

He's cute!
20. I was a Communications, Media & Theatre major in college. I was going for a Music minor but History of Music After Beethoven and Music Theory II messed me up so I ended up with a Theatre minor. I love the Theatre, especially working backstage, either as a stage manager or what I'd really love to do more of, directing! I haven't worked on a production in five years and I miss it
21. Film/television is my real passion though! I had the opportunity to work on a couple of videos in high school thanks to the Young Adult group at my library. The first was "Live! (on tape) At the Library" and was about using the library. We interviewed library staff, did a hilarious segment on stuff you DON'T do at the library (like don't eat, we filmed a picnic in the stacks

), and for me the coolest part was the history segment. Our local history book was written by noted children's author Tom McGowen and I had the honor of writing the text of a short segment on the library's history that Mr. McGowen read. Yeah I about fainted when I was sitting in the studio listening to him read my writing!
22. My biggest film project to date was "A Tale of Two Ridges: The History of Norridge & Harwood Heights". Yes, this was a whole video based on the book! I proposed the project, wrote the script, did some of the location filming, ran a camera in the studio when we were filming the still photos, did some of the voice overs, and helped edit. I learned how to edit working on these two videos, and this was analog editing on 1970s era equipment. The audio is a little crummy (there was an air conditioning fan in the radio booth we used that no one could turn off), but I am really proud of that project. Even though it's already 12 years old and a lot has changed since then!
23. I learned stage combat choreography while working on a video project in college. I got a friend hooked on the Highlander television series and she wrote me a video script that I attempted to film for an independent study. Unfortunately we had a lot of problems and only got a few scenes filmed (we were a little overambitious....her script was practically feature film length!), but in working on planning out the fight choreography I learned a LOT about sword fighting. I also learned a lot about how many takes it can take to get a scene in the can and how difficult it can be to edit. I have ONE scene fully edited and I still look at it and go "that transition still sucks, I want to redo that". But it is a pretty good scene.
24. I talk too much. Can you tell?
Hmm...who to tag....not at all mandatory mind you ^_^
On to other things....
I'm still behind. Yeah, I know, I keep saying I'm going to catch up and things keep happening. My mom had surgery on her elbow on Friday, to remove this growth (the Doctor called it a tumor but he thinks it's benign). She got through that just fine, but now is the annoying part. Her right arm is in a sling for a few weeks so my dad and I are helping her with a lot. I get to get up in about three hours to start the crockpot for tonight's dinner

(actually I like that, I like my crockpot! It's got Kevin Harvick on it!) So I'm not spending as much time on the computer as I'd like.
EDIT: The doctor called today, "it's all benign" to quote him

YAY!
On the bright side though, while we were waiting during her surgery I got a lot of drawing done! I did some sketching, then I started playing with inking. It's FUN!

Especially when I got home and during the Nick West airing of Phantom Planet I tried inking using my calligraphy dip pen. Weeee! Now I just need a scanner, because taking photos of these drawings really doesn't do them justice. Not that the scanner will be perfect but it'll be better.
I still have request slots open. I just took a bunch of screencaps of The Kiss (yes it gets capitalized) from Phantom Planet to help me with one of them. Feel free to add a request!!
And that's about it for me now.

I'm gonna go commune with my plot and art bunnies until I have to start the crockpot. Oh and keep an eye on my
Flickr account. I plan on uploading some of the highlights of my Phantom Planet screencaps until I can get them finished and get the boatload handed off to Z to be put on the
DPOF Picture Archive. Yes those will include some requests made in the chat

I've already got Tucker's little ghostie animation capped, for one!
~~Keep Danny flying!!!~~

Craft swaps are so much fun! I really need to start selling some crafts...but at least in a swap I can get something awesome in return. Like my lovely patronus unicorn, or a nice quilt kit that I still haven't started to work on.....

But man does having a working machine again finally help. Of course now I've got a whole new stack of projects I want to work on (and a pretty fabric just came in that I'm gonna buy on Monday to make a skirt from...if I actually get off my duff and make the half a dozen skirts and tops that I have patterns and fabric already bought for.
